Next, I think I'm going to write something happy for once. :D
LOLNO.
Next, I want to write something from an animal's viewpoint or something, like how they feel when they're abused. Not like I'd seriously know how they feel because I don't go around reading animal's minds, but I'm pretty sure it makes them miserable and all emo.

Something that has challenged me as a writer is providing details about things without giving away too much or taking up too much space. One shortcut I used to make it easier to write (and more interesting) was to make all of the 3 armed bandits (a criminal gang) identical, so I only had to describe one and say that they all looked the same. The strategy of visualizing has helped me with this, because I can imagine waking up as a prisoner in their camp, and can think about how they would act and what they would do.

A mentor text I read this week was "A Wish For Her" by Emily K. on teenink.com. It had a common theme, but th writing was really good. The author did that dialougue thing where you only give a little information. This made me infer a lot about the text. There weren't names for the main characters or anything. This text taught me more about how to use dialougue to describe people. The author engaged me with telling how the main character saw the outcast at the end, loved by no one, and very sad.
